Serving Canyon Bike Riders in Oklahoma
When Canyon first started making its way into the U.S. market, we weren’t exactly jumping for joy. As a local bike shop, working with industry partners that support the traditional retail model is a big deal for us, and brands like Canyon, which go direct-to-consumer, have really shaken things up. The reality is, local bike shops have to evolve, and innovation isn’t something you can ignore or reverse.
When it came time to decide how to respond to Canyon’s growth in our area, we leaned heavily on our Core Values to guide us. One of those is our Mission of Service—being here for the OKC cycling community and its riders is at the heart of what we do. It’s why we exist, what makes the ups and downs of running a bike shop worth it, and how we stay true to ourselves.
Because of that mission, we knew we had to figure out how to support Canyon riders in our community. Things like warranty work, new bike checks, and finding proprietary parts are easy to handle with our established industry partners. But with Canyon, we didn’t have the training or resources to become true experts on their bikes. One of our other Core Values is Commitment to Mastery, and achieving that requires direct connections with a brand.
A couple of years ago, we saw that Canyon started rolling out Authorized Service Partners in Europe, and last year, they brought that program to the U.S. That’s when we decided to jump in and start building those connections to better serve local riders.
So, we’re excited to share that we’re now an Authorized Service Partner for Canyon bikes—the first in Oklahoma, and hopefully just the start of many more.
